ISO 2560 B E4918 1A
AWS A5.1 E7018-1

Application

Applicable to welding of carbon steel and low-alloy steel structures, as well as structures with corresponding strength in nuclear power engineering, pressure vessels, marine engineering, pipelines, bridges, such as Q345.

Characteristics

The JL-E7018-1 is a low-hydrogen potassium-type electrode. It can be used with both AC and DC power sources and is suitable for all-position welding. It features excellent welding process performance, strong arc stiffness, minimal spatter, easy slag removal, aesthetically formed weld seams, high deposition efficiency, and can reduce the number of welding passes required.

Note

The welding rod must be baked at 350-380°C for 1 hour before welding and used immediately after baking.

Remove rust, oil, water, and other impurities from the work piece before welding.

During welding, short arc operation should be used, with the oscillation amplitude not excessively large, and narrow weld bead welding is preferable.

To prevent the occurrence of arc initiation porosity, arc initiation plates or the arc initiation return method should be used for welding.
