Application

Suitable for repair welding of important high-strength gray cast iron and nodular cast iron components such as cylinders, engine bases, gears, rollers, etc.

Characteristics

JL-Z408 is a cast iron electrode with a strongly reducing graphite-type coating on a nickel-iron alloy core. It can be used with both AC and DC power sources, featuring stable arc and convenient operation. This electrode exhibits high strength, good plasticity, and low coefficient of linear expansion. The coating appears black with a slight reddish hue, providing stable arc, fine droplet transfer, uniform coating melting, and even slag coverage, resulting in aesthetically pleasing weld appearance. Particularly, it demonstrates excellent operational performance at low currents, effectively avoiding adverse effects caused by high currents.

Note

The welding rod should be baked at 120-150°C for 1-1.5 hours before use.

Use the smallest possible current for welding.

Stress in the weld repair zone can be relieved by peening the weld to avoid cracking.
